- 4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 ½ cups warm milk (110°F)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- 1 ½ tsp salt
Instructions
- Mixing and Kneading: Warm milk, activate yeast with a teaspoon of sugar for 5–10 minutes. Combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add eggs, butter, and yeast mixture. Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth.
- First Rise and Shaping: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–2 hours until doubled. Punch down, shape into loaf, place in greased 9×5-inch pan, cover, and let rise 30–45 minutes.
- Second Rise and Baking: Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake 30–35 minutes until golden brown and hollow when tapped. Brush with butter after baking. Cool before slicing.
