- 1 pound Ground meat (beef, turkey, or chicken)
- ¾ cup Breadcrumbs (whole wheat or gluten-free if needed)
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (chopped; or 1 tablespoon dried)
- ½ cup Onion (finely chopped)
- 1 large Egg
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
- 2 cups Marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- Olive oil (for drizzling; optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped onion, egg, salt, black pepper, and dried oregano in a large mixing bowl.
- Form meatballs about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Drizzle olive oil over the meatballs and bake for about 20 minutes.
- Warm the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat while the meatballs bake.
- Transfer the baked meatballs to the saucepan with the marinara sauce and simmer for about 5-10 minutes.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs. You can also add chopped spinach or zucchini to the meat mixture for more veggies.
