Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground meat (beef, turkey, or chicken)
  • ¾ cup Breadcrumbs (whole wheat or gluten-free if needed)
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (chopped; or 1 tablespoon dried)
  • ½ cup Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • Olive oil (for drizzling; optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped onion, egg, salt, black pepper, and dried oregano in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Form meatballs about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Drizzle olive oil over the meatballs and bake for about 20 minutes.
  5. Warm the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat while the meatballs bake.
  6. Transfer the baked meatballs to the saucepan with the marinara sauce and simmer for about 5-10 minutes.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs. You can also add chopped spinach or zucchini to the meat mixture for more veggies.
