Description

Quick and delicious BBQ chicken naan pizzas with smoky flavors, melted cheese, and fresh toppings ready in under 30 minutes for easy weeknight dinners

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pieces naan bread
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
  • 3/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 cup smoked gouda cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or place a pizza stone inside to heat.
  2. 2. In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken with half of the BBQ sauce, tossing until the chicken is evenly coated.
  3. 3. Brush each naan bread with olive oil on one side to create a moisture barrier and promote crispiness.
  4. 4. Spread a thin layer of the remaining BBQ sauce over each naan, leaving about half an inch around the edges for crust.
  5. 5. Combine the mozzarella and smoked gouda cheeses in a bowl, then sprinkle the cheese blend evenly over the sauce on each naan.
  6. 6. Distribute the BBQ-coated chicken pieces across all four naan pizzas, arranging them evenly for balanced flavor.
  7. 7. Top each pizza with thinly sliced red onions, distributing them evenly across the surface.
  8. 8. Place the assembled pizzas directly on the oven rack or preheated pizza stone and bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
  9. 9. Remove from the oven and immediately garnish with fresh chopped cilantro while the pizzas are still hot.
  10. 10. Allow to cool for 2-3 minutes before slicing and serving to prevent burns from hot cheese.

Notes

Store leftover pizzas in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350-degree oven for 8-10 minutes for best texture. You can substitute rotisserie chicken for convenience, or use pulled pork or turkey as protein alternatives. For a spicier version, add sliced jalapeños or use spicy BBQ sauce.
