- 1 bag thick tortilla chips
- 1 lb ground beef (85–90% lean)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sliced green onions
- 1/2 cup jalapeños (optional)
- 1 avocado, sliced
- Turkey beef (optional)
- Salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned. Drain.
- Add chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Add water and simmer.
- Spread half the chips on a sheet pan.
- Add half the beef and half the cheese.
- Layer the remaining chips, beef, and cheese.
- Bake until cheese melts and chips stay crisp.
- Add fresh toppings: tomatoes, green onions, avocado, turkey beef, jalapeños.
- Serve warm with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole.
