A cozy, cheesy twist on classic Chicken Parmesan. Tender chicken, gooey mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese layered between golden buttery bread. Perfect for weeknight dinners or a comfort food treat.

- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt, pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning
- 4 slices sourdough or Italian bread
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan
- Optional: fresh basil, red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Flatten chicken breasts to an even thickness. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F). Remove and let rest 5 minutes.
- Butter one side of each bread slice generously.
- Assemble sandwiches: unbuttered side of bottom slice → chicken → marinara sauce → mozzarella → Parmesan → optional basil or red pepper flakes → top slice of bread (buttered side out).
- Heat skillet over medium heat. Place sandwich in skillet, cover, and cook 2–3 minutes. Flip and cook other side until golden brown and cheese melts.
- Remove from skillet, let rest 1–2 minutes, slice diagonally, and serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.Serving Suggestions: Pair with baked fries, a fresh green salad, or tomato soup for a cozy, complete meal.
Notes
Use leftover chicken for a quicker version. Mini sandwiches work great for kids or appetizers.
