Description

An addictively delicious casserole featuring tender chicken, crispy bacon, creamy ranch filling, and golden tater tots topped with melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, diced
  • 1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) ranch dressing mix
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 32 ounces frozen tater tots
  • 4 green onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, and ranch dressing mix until smooth.
  3. 3. Fold in diced chicken, most of the crumbled bacon (reserve some for topping), and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. 4. Spread the chicken mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  5. 5. Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer over the chicken mixture, packing them closely together.
  6. 6. Sprinkle remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese over the tater tots, then top with reserved bacon crumbles.
  7. 7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. 8. Remove foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes until tater tots are golden and crispy.
  9. 9. Let rest for 5-10 minutes, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in oven at 350°F until warmed through. Can be assembled 24 hours ahead and refrigerated before baking.
