A comforting, cheesy lasagna with layers of tender pasta, rich meat sauce, and gooey mozzarella. Perfect for family dinners or cozy weeknights.

- 12 lasagna noodles (no-boil or regular, cooked al dente)
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey sausage
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 24 ounces tomato sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 15 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning (or mix of basil, oregano, thyme)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce and meat layer: Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil, then cook meat until browned. Add tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 10–15 minutes.
- Assemble the lasagna layers: Spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish. Layer noodles, ricotta, mozzarella, and meat sauce. Repeat until ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake 20–25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
