- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Additional 1/4 cup granulated sugar for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet.
- Cream butter with sugars until fluffy. Mix in heavy cream and vanilla. Gradually fold in flour, baking powder, and salt. Chill dough 30 minutes.
- Scoop dough, flatten slightly, and bake 10–12 minutes. Cool cookies on tray.
- Sprinkle with sugar and caramelize with a kitchen torch or broiler until golden. Let cool before serving.

- Chilling the dough helps cookies hold shape.
- Caramelize sugar just before serving for best crunch.
- Can freeze baked cookies without topping for up to 1 month.
