Ingredients

- 1 cup of crab meat (canned or fresh)
- 1 cup of shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup of queso cheese (or a blend of Monterey Jack and cheddar)
- 1/2 cup of cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup of green onions, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 8 small flour or corn tortillas
- Oil for frying (canola or vegetable)
- Optional: Jalapeños for a spicy kick
- Optional: Lime juice for a zesty touch
- Optional: Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Combine the crab meat, shrimp, queso cheese, softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and onion powder in a mixing bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Warm the tortillas slightly to make them pliable.
- Take about two tablespoons of the filling and place it towards one end of the tortilla. Roll tightly and secure with a toothpick if needed.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place the rolled taquitos seam side down in the hot oil, frying until golden brown (2-3 minutes per side).
- Remove the taquitos once crispy and drain on paper towels.
- Serve with fresh cilantro and lime juice, alongside your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For healthier alternatives, use whole wheat tortillas or air fry the taquitos instead of frying.
