Delicious taquitos filled with a creamy blend of crab and shrimp, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup of crab meat (canned or fresh)
  • 1 cup of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup of queso cheese (or a blend of Monterey Jack and cheddar)
  • 1/2 cup of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup of green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • Oil for frying (canola or vegetable)
  • Optional: Jalapeños for a spicy kick
  • Optional: Lime juice for a zesty touch
  • Optional: Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine the crab meat, shrimp, queso cheese, softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and onion powder in a mixing bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Warm the tortillas slightly to make them pliable.
  3. Take about two tablespoons of the filling and place it towards one end of the tortilla. Roll tightly and secure with a toothpick if needed.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Place the rolled taquitos seam side down in the hot oil, frying until golden brown (2-3 minutes per side).
  6. Remove the taquitos once crispy and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve with fresh cilantro and lime juice, alongside your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For healthier alternatives, use whole wheat tortillas or air fry the taquitos instead of frying.
