Description

This Easy Shepherd’s Pie Casserole is a classic comfort food with layers of seasoned ground meat, vegetables, and creamy mashed potatoes baked to golden perfection. Perfect for weeknight dinners or family gatherings, it’s hearty, flavorful, and kid-friendly.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • 1 cup peas, frozen
  • 1 cup corn, frozen or canned
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef or chicken broth, low sodium
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste (optional)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes, prepared or homemade
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Cook ground beef or turkey until browned. Add onions, carrots, garlic, peas, and corn, cooking until softened. Stir in broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5-7 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread meat-vegetable mixture in a 9×13-inch dish. Top with mashed potatoes, smoothing with a spatula and dotting with butter.
  3. Bake uncovered 20-25 minutes until potatoes are golden and edges bubble. Let cool slightly before serving.
