- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 medium carrots, diced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 tbsp butter
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Prepare Meat and Vegetables: Heat olive oil in skillet, cook onions, carrots, garlic, then add ground beef until browned. Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, broth, peas, salt, and pepper. Simmer 10 minutes.
- Make Mashed Potato Topping: Mash potatoes with butter and milk until creamy. Optionally mix in cheddar cheese.
- Assemble and Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F. Layer meat mixture in baking dish, top with mashed potatoes. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden. Rest 5 minutes before serving.
