Description

Delightful green cookies inspired by the festive spirit, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon green gel food coloring
  • Festive decorations (red and green sprinkles or edible glitter)

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lining baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Whisk them together until well mixed.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, almond extract (if using), and the green gel food coloring.
  5. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each one.
  7. Top each dough ball with festive sprinkles before baking.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set and the tops look slightly cracked.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use almond flour; for dairy-free, substitute coconut oil for butter. A flax egg can replace the regular egg for a vegan option.
