- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup tomato sauce
- Optional toppings: pepperoni, cooked chicken, bell peppers, mushrooms
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 beaten egg (for brushing)
- 1–2 tsp Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Activate yeast in warm water with sugar, then mix with flour, salt, and olive oil to form dough. Knead 8–10 minutes and let rise for 1 hour.
- Punch down dough and divide into 8–10 portions. Roll into circles about ¼ inch thick.
- Spoon tomato sauce and mozzarella into each circle. Add optional toppings and seasonings.
- Fold dough over filling, seal edges with a fork, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle Parmesan if desired.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18–22 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
