Vibrant Thai Sweet Chili Sauce made at home with simple ingredients. Perfect for dipping, glazing, or drizzling over meals.
Ingredients

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup rice vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1–2 tsp red chili flakes
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water (for slurry)
Instructions
- Combine sugar, rice vinegar, water, garlic, and chili flakes in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Let simmer for 5–7 minutes. Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water, then stir into the sauce to thicken. Adjust spice or sweetness if needed.
- Remove from heat, cool slightly, and transfer to a jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
Notes
- Adjust chili flakes for desired heat level.
- Skip cornstarch for a thinner, pourable sauce.
- Shake before use if separation occurs.
