Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 stalks green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. 2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes.
  3. 3. Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water to create a slurry and add to sauce mixture.
  4. 4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. 5. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2 minutes without moving.
  6. 6. Flip shrimp and cook for another 1-2 minutes until pink and opaque.
  7. 7. Remove shrimp from pan and set aside temporarily.
  8. 8. Pour honey garlic sauce into the same pan and bring to a simmer.
  9. 9. Cook sauce for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  10. 10. Return shrimp to pan and toss to coat completely in sauce.
  11. 11. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet over medium heat. Serve over rice, noodles, or with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
