Description

A refreshing Lemon Sorbet that’s easy to make and perfect for cooling down on a hot day.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (approximately 46 lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • Zest of 2 lemons
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Simple Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Over medium heat, stir until the sugar completely dissolves. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  2. Mix the Lemon Juice: In a large bowl, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt. Stir in the cooled simple syrup until well mixed.
  3. Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer to an airtight container. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  4. Churn the Sorbet: If using an ice cream maker, pour the chilled mixture in and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, approximately 20-25 minutes.
  5. Freeze Until Firm: Transfer the churned sorbet to a freezer-safe container, smooth the top, cover tightly, and freeze for at least 2 more hours.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Scoop the sorbet into bowls or dessert glasses. Garnish with fresh mint leaves, if desired.

Notes

To make it vegan, ensure no dairy products are used. For a lower sugar option, substitute with agave nectar or a sugar-free sweetener.
