Description

A cozy, easy-to-make homemade marinara sauce full of flavor, perfect for pasta, dipping, and family meals.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until soft. Stir in garlic for 1 minute.
  2. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and sugar. Mix well.
  3. Lower heat and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust thickness and seasoning before serving.
