- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon sugar
Instructions
- Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until soft. Stir in garlic for 1 minute.
- Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and sugar. Mix well.
- Lower heat and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust thickness and seasoning before serving.
