  • 1 lb White American cheese, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 can (4 oz) diced green chiles
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 small jalapeño, finely diced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut cheeses into small pieces.
  2. Melt butter over low heat in a medium saucepan, add garlic, and cook until soft.
  3. Add milk and cream, warming gently.
  4. Stir in cheeses a handful at a time until melted and smooth.
  5. Mix in green chiles, spices, and optional jalapeño. Adjust thickness with milk if needed.
  6. Serve warm with tortilla chips or preferred dippers.
