- 4 medium ripe bananas, sliced
- 3 cups whole milk
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
- 3 large egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 box vanilla wafer cookies (11 oz)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, whisk milk, sugar, and flour over medium heat until thickened.
- Temper egg yolks with hot milk mixture, return to pan, and cook until creamy. Stir in butter and vanilla.
- Layer cookies, bananas, and warm pudding in a dish. Repeat layers, ending with pudding.
- Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving.
