Description

Old-Fashioned Homemade Banana Pudding is a creamy, comforting dessert made with real pudding, fresh bananas, and classic vanilla wafer layers. It’s easy, nostalgic, and perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 medium ripe bananas, sliced
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box vanilla wafer cookies (11 oz)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, whisk milk, sugar, and flour over medium heat until thickened.
  2. Temper egg yolks with hot milk mixture, return to pan, and cook until creamy. Stir in butter and vanilla.
  3. Layer cookies, bananas, and warm pudding in a dish. Repeat layers, ending with pudding.
  4. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving.
