Description

Classic custard pie with a tender crust and silky smooth filling. Perfect for dessert, family gatherings, or cozy weekend treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (pie crust)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar (for custard)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Optional: ¼ tsp nutmeg or cinnamon
  • Optional: Whipped cream or fresh berries for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare pie crust by mixing flour and salt, cutting in butter, adding water, rolling dough into pie pan, and blind-baking 10 minutes.
  2. Whisk eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Warm milk over medium heat, temper eggs with milk, then cook gently until slightly thickened. Pour custard into crust.
  3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–40 minutes until custard is just set. Cool completely, refrigerate for 2 hours, then serve with optional toppings.

Notes

  • Store in the fridge for 3–4 days.
  • Do not freeze to maintain silky texture.
  • Optional spices and toppings add warmth and elegance.
