Description

One Pot Creamy Pesto Sauce Pasta combines tender noodles with creamy basil pesto, garlic, and parmesan in a single pot. Quick, comforting, and perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz dried pasta (penne, rotini, or fettuccine)
  • 1/2 cup basil pesto
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1 cup cooked protein (chicken, shrimp, or turkey sausage)
  • Optional: 1 cup vegetables (spinach, cherry tomatoes, or peas)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat and sauté garlic for 30–60 seconds. Add pasta and 4 cups water or broth, then cook 10–12 minutes until tender.
  2. Lower heat and stir in pesto, cream, and parmesan gradually, stirring to create a smooth, creamy sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Fold in optional protein and vegetables, stir gently until heated through, and serve immediately with extra parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust cream or milk to achieve desired sauce thickness.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
