Peach Lemonade

  • Author: Angie
  • Total Time: 20 minutes plus chilling time
  • Yield: 8 servings

Description

A refreshing homemade summer beverage combining sweet ripe peaches with tangy fresh lemon juice for the perfect balance of fruity flavors

Ingredients

  • Fresh ripe peaches – 4 medium-sized
  • Fresh lemons – 6 large
  • Granulated sugar – 1 cup
  • Water – 6 cups
  • Ice cubes – As needed
  • Fresh mint leaves – Optional, for garnish
  • Peach slices – Optional, for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1. Wash and cut 4 medium peaches into chunks, removing the pits. Blend until completely smooth to create a peach puree, then strain through a fine-mesh sieve.
  2. 2. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar with 1 cup water over medium heat. Stir continuously until sugar dissolves completely, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
  3. 3. Squeeze 6 large lemons to extract about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice, straining out any seeds.
  4. 4. In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, cooled simple syrup, peach puree, and remaining 5 cups of cold water. Stir thoroughly to mix all ingredients.
  5. 5. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as desired. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
  6. 6. Serve over ice cubes, garnished with fresh peach slices and mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For best flavor, consume within 2-3 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months. For a sparkling version, replace half the water with club soda just before serving.
