  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups prepared pecan pie filling
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Pour the prepared pecan pie filling into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  3. Combine the chopped pecans, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a bowl for the topping.
  4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the pecan pie filling without stirring.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix layer.
  6. Pour water over the entire dish, no stirring needed.
  7. Bake for about 45-50 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
