A cozy, hearty soup with all the flavors of traditional shepherd’s pie—ground beef, vegetables, and creamy mashed potatoes in every comforting bite. Perfect for family dinners or chilly nights.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken)
  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 4 cups beef or chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 4 tbsp butter (for mashed potatoes)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 3 large potatoes, peeled & chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare Base: Sauté onions, carrots, celery, and garlic. Brown ground beef, then add tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and broth. Simmer 15–20 mins.
  2. Cook Soup: Season with salt, pepper, and optional herbs. Add peas last 5 minutes.
  3. Make Mashed Potatoes: Boil potatoes until tender, mash with butter and milk. Spoon on top of soup before serving
