- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal later.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir well until everything is smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, prepare the cream cheese swirl by beating the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spread half of the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan. Spoon dollops of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter. Gently swirl the cream cheese into the brownie mixture.
- Pour the remaining brownie batter over the top of the cream cheese layer and swirl again to create a marbled effect.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting them into squares.
Notes
Feel free to add chocolate chips or nuts for extra flavor. Use Greek yogurt for a lighter cream cheese alternative.
