A sweet, savory, and easy homemade teriyaki sauce perfect for glazing, marinating, or stir-frying meats and vegetables.
Ingredients

- ½ cup soy sauce (or low-sodium)
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- ¼ cup water
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- ½ tsp sesame oil (optional)
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
- Mix cornstarch with water and gradually stir into the sauce. Simmer 2–3 minutes until thickened. Add optional sesame oil or red pepper flakes.
- Remove from heat, let cool slightly, and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. Use for stir-fry, glaze, or marinade.
Notes
- Adjust sweetness or saltiness as desired. Thicken further by simmering longer, or thin with water for lighter sauce.
