Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko recommended)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing your chicken. Pound the breasts to an even thickness, about 1 inch. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Set up a dredging station. In one bowl, place the flour. In another bowl, crack in the eggs and whisk them. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip it in the egg, then coat it in breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat enough cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. While the chicken cooks, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in the honey until fully combined.
  5. Once the chicken is done, transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Brush or drizzle honey butter over each piece while they’re still hot.
  6. Let the chicken sit for a few minutes before serving to let the glaze set.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use almond flour and gluten-free Panko. Try air frying for a lighter option.
