Description
Spicy and sweet pickled jalapeños that add a zesty kick to any dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh jalapeños, sliced into rings
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup distilled white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic, smashed (optional)
Instructions
- Start by preparing your jalapeños. Wash them thoroughly, then slice them into rings.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the honey, distilled white vinegar, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir until the mixture comes to a gentle simmer.
- Once simmering, add in the jalapeño slices and, if desired, the optional red pepper flakes and smashed garlic cloves. Stir everything well.
- Allow the jalapeños to simmer gently for about 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, carefully remove the saucepan from heat. Allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes before transferring.
- For the best flavor, let the jar sit at room temperature for about an hour before refrigerating.
Notes
Use clean, sterilized jars for storage to keep pickles fresh longer. Adjust the heat level according to personal preference.
