Description
A hearty and healthy twist on classic cabbage rolls, this low carb casserole is filled with tender cabbage, ground beef, and a zesty sauce.

- 1 large head of green cabbage, chopped
- 1 pound of ground beef (or turkey)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar; use dairy-free if desired)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Add ground beef (or turkey) in a skillet and sauté until browned.
- Chop cabbage into bite-sized pieces.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Layer half of the chopped cabbage in a baking dish, followed by half of the meat mixture, and repeat.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes.
- Let the casserole sit for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
You can easily make this dish gluten-free or vegetarian with simple substitutions.
