- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 box (15.25 ounces) yellow cake mix
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted (two sticks)
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup corn syrup (light or dark)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Whisk until smooth.
- Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or grease it to prevent sticking. Spread the chopped pecans evenly in the dish.
- Pour the mixture over the pecans in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the top of the pecan mixture without stirring.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
- Bake for approximately 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Cool the cake for 10-15 minutes before serving.
Notes
For variations, use dark brown sugar, substitute pecans with walnuts or hazelnuts, or replace eggs with flax eggs for a vegan version.
