  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A deliciously easy dessert that combines the classic flavors of pecan pie in a cake-like form, perfect for gatherings and cozy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 box (15.25 ounces) yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted (two sticks)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup corn syrup (light or dark)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or grease it to prevent sticking. Spread the chopped pecans evenly in the dish.
  4. Pour the mixture over the pecans in the baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the top of the pecan mixture without stirring.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  7. Bake for approximately 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Cool the cake for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For variations, use dark brown sugar, substitute pecans with walnuts or hazelnuts, or replace eggs with flax eggs for a vegan version.
