Description

A lighter and healthier twist on pizza, packed with protein from cottage cheese and customizable to suit various dietary needs.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cottage cheese (low-fat)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers, chopped
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • Optional toppings: pepperoni slices or turkey pepperoni, sautéed mushrooms, fresh basil, spinach

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Combine the cottage cheese, mozzarella, diced tomatoes, bell peppers, onion, black olives, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on the bottom of a baking dish to prevent sticking. Spoon the cottage cheese mixture into the dish, smoothing it into an even layer.
  3. Top with the remaining pizza sauce, then sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella on top.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
